When I was in High School I dislocated my shoulder
Then I did it again…. and again…..and again…..and again…….
I finally did some research online to learn how to re-strengthen my shoulder
Because I did not want surgery
There are many exercise tubes to choose from
These are the criteria that I select my shoulder exercise tube from:
1). Flexibility: When dealing with shoulder injuries, you want to re-build your shoulder with medium flex bands. Too strong and you are at risk of re-injury, too flexible and you won’t get a good resistance workout in.
2). Size: You want a skinnier tube. The fatter tubes won’t allow you to do all of the exercises to rehab a shoulder.
3). Cost: If you pay more than $20 it is probably too much.
4). Durable and Long Lasting: This one exercise band should last you a decade of stretches.
Liveup Resistance Tube with Foam Handles
There may be some issues with this band (according to amazon reviewers). I think it is ok, but I prefer the Tribe Single Resistance for shoulder dislocations.
Tribe Single Resistance Band
A very simple single chord resistance band with an “anti snap” promise. This is the band that I have and I’ve been using it for many years without a problem. Two Thumbs up for sure. And cheap.
Dynapro with Comfort Handles
I would go with the green medium flex (20 pounds). Love the comfort handles. Helps with my love handles.
Remember when recovering from a shoulder dislocation that when exercising with a band you keep your shoulders back and back straight. I have looked at the videos on youtube with instructions on how to rehab a shoulder with these bands. I frankly don’t agree with them. I’m not a doctor, but the exercises that have worked best to restore confidence and strength in my shoulder are the exercises that go across my body and not extending out or up.

And less like this:
I can hardly watch a shoulder dislocation video anymore. So much painful trauma cringe floods into my mind. This one is interesting though where a fighter fixes his opponents dislocated shoulder:
